Windows Vista employs a slightly different security system concept than Windows XP, more or
less regardless if you are Administrator on the PC it will run most games/applications as a
standard user as a security precaution. The patch for LastChaos fails for this reason, it is
run as a standard user in order to prevent "overwriting" of system files (exactly what a patcher's
purpose is).
Solution:
| |
|
Click Start, then Programs
Go to LastChaos
Right click on "Run LastChaos" shortcut
Click the menu option that says "Run as Administrator"
It will pop up confirming you wish to run, Allow it.
|
Note the following: you will probably have to do this each time a new patch is released
at least until Windows Vista is able to identify the patcher as a process which requires
Administrator write capabilities.
If there are no new patch files, no worries, you can just click it like normal.
Enjoy.
