Umm I know this is might be a bit obvious but I think you might need to fortify your armor and sheild a bit more. Templar is an expensive class cause you need high fort. Atm you'd be nom-material for most classes including my SS.

However on the +side you have all your yellows!

I think the rest is just learning the tactics, which I'm sure more experienced Templar's can provide plenty of insight (and will in later responses to this thread).

Lastly don't be so hard on yourself! I sense you're possibly a bit upset, and perhaps people have been giving you a hard time. You might get knocked down, but you'll get back up again!

I love playing temp!

So let's see if I can help...Your gear's are not that bad, yes forts need to be higher to be more effective but gear lvling and understanding your skills can make up for some of that.

So if your gears aren't bad what is your actual issue. Hard to just say you are a fail without saying why you think you are.

Also if when you respond lists of sprite gear you use as well and your lvl o/

I'll try to help best I can.

I'm going to disagree here a bit with you Desu my Temp Legacy is all +8-9 and I tank just fine however armor lvl.ing has really helped as has lvl.ing all my other weapons and gear which i recommend too.

For Talents I suggest you make sure the ones you have for Heavy Tank and Great Hammer Warrior are as high as you can get them you will need those for PT and BFR and I myself use H.Tank and L.Tank in FT.

Weapons make the 65 shield no questions about that just make it, have leech sword and for me personally i like to use Infinate Blue with Aurora Wing Blade and LoC the three proc together its pretty awesome though that's my opinion on the triple proc lol other tanks might say use big sword but eh not my style there. Yon're gonna wanna try to have around 9k Def by the mid-late 70's if you're in that lvl. range. MAKE YOUR 70 Relic xD the anti magic one will save your butt :3

other then that you seem to be doing alright just remember Tanky is as Tanky does so think Tanky thoughts and you'll be good ^_^

I would personally never use Heavy Tank outside of trolling Wind Samurai has the attack speed to use with wind samurai and you can use it with +8-+9 legacy as you recommended. Heavy Tank gives defense but u literally have to rely on CE proc to even get moving.

In total honesty, what's made templar "fun" for me is simply having a huge arsenal of weapons at your disposal. Axes, Swords, Shields, Hammers all can be proc'd seperately for massive damage dealing and health benefits. Your buffs are also exceedingly overpowered if you use them properly. The downside is that templars are rather expensive to gear, given so many weapons have good abilities.

I also use templar legacy because for PvE it gives more flat rate defense and HP, and the experience buff helps out. When it comes to PvP, you'll want to troll. You're meant to really tank, not get a lot of kills (Unless you're GSDesu). There are ways that this is possible, however.

As far as gear goes - I always have these weapons on me at all times:

Equipped:
Fallen Emperor
Lord of Cruelty
Saintly Icon - Platinum

Not Equipped:
Swords:
Holy Sword - Voice of Hope (75 2-H Sword, so not this one yet for you)

Axes:
Winged Aurora Blade

Hammers:
Jundo's Holy Hammer of Creation
Arctic King - Fang of Light

Relics:
Order of the Sanctuary Seal
God of Eye Emblem

Shields:
Creator's Embrace
Realm of Eternity

Combinations of procing these items alone makes for a heavy templar.

Keep in mind your buffs also play an essential role, especially when it comes to PvP. They help you both defensively and aggressively.

Absolute Defense - I use against Sin/Ranger classes, but hardly ever in PvE.
Saintly Blade - Increases Damage done to opponents. Try to keep this active.
Super Hot Blooded Surge - Increases Damage done to opponents. Use w/ Saintly Blade.
Final Battle Standard - So increasingly useful against any sort of Wizard/Necro class.
Shield of Vengeance - I only really use against anybody that can do significant amount of damage to me. It reflects damage, but if you're not taking a lot, there's not a lot of sense of wasting your mana over it.
Potential Release - I don't use in PvP, but in PvE when everything has proc'd and I just want to do a little more damage.
Heaven on Earth - Only if I'm going to die and I'm going to run for it with Escape without a Trace.
Swift Light Wing - If, on the off chance, I get somebody significantly lower than me in PvP (especially templars), this raises your evasion. The level difference and the boost can help you get missed attacks from them.
Escape Without a Trace - Pretty self explainatory.
Sacred Counter Attack - I'll use this with Shield of Vengeance, but it also gives me a little bit of health per hit from an enemy. It's great with a bunch of mobs, or tanking Barobaro.
Realm of Holy Light - So useful at slowing enemies down - especially if you're tanking them. Again - great for a lot of mobs and you're taking damage. Using both SCA and RoHL gives you protection - if anything.
Holy Light Protection - Buffs everybody else in your party as well as yourself. It is useful for the damage reduction and little increase for damage.

Tomes are also extremely helpful when it comes to both PvE and PvP.

Focus Sacred Energy - Gives a nice increase in damage. Extremely useful for team fights or parties in dungeons (except on monsters that reflect, of course).
Heavenly Shield - Increases your strength and speed after successfully blocking (and this does have a cooldown, so don't think you can use the 50 relic and assume a constant increase)

It took me a very long time to figure out combinations on what to use in PvP. I, personally, prefer to tank everything rather than attack it head on.

What I use in PvP matches is as follows:

Weapons

Arctic King - Fang of Light
Realm of Eternity
Saintly Icon - Platinum

[b]Talent/Combination[b]

Hammer Specialist 4
Light Arms Specialist 4
Lightfoot Stance 3
Determination 4

This gives me decent protection against magic users, but what it also does is give me insane cast time reduction (from Disciple Talent Combo, Determination 4, and the Sleep Hammer).

In team battles (which you should be leading into), heal yourself constantly, preventing death, and will force those who attack you to sleep. Constantly buff yourself as well, to give yourself an advantage. You can attack from time to time, granted you won't do a lot of damage if you hit, but if you're having issues with surviving, what you want to do is first learn how to buff properly and in what situations (even I'm still learning that one) and work as a team - which in PvP doesn't always work, but if you get people willing to work with a strategy it becomes far easier (and yes, this is possible, though rare).

Haha, glad to help. I struggled for a while until another templar was like "Hey, why aren't you buffing" because 1-60 I felt near invincible and never thought much to buff or use different weapons, etc. Strategy always comes into play one way or another. Once you figure out combinations of buffs/weapons you prefer you'll feel a lot better about it. Just don't get discouraged! For now experiment with different techniques and you'll figure it out :3

mm

plus
Templar buffs are essential, they are the first thing players notice about a Templar and if they are any good. A Templar that doesn't buff is gonna lose a lot, you just will not have the hit rate and tankiness and slows to abuse your classes greatest aspects.

even 1-60 pallies need to buff. I can wipe a +18 forted pally who isn't buffing faster in 40 pvp than a +13 forted pally who is buffing.

FYI if your not a heavy AP spender and you want good gear you basically have to play darkstalker as that is the only class that can farm gold fast without epicly good gear.
