I too felt the sting of the random cubes, namely for the swim suits.
Now I'll admit i didn't spend as much AP as some, but getting 5 cubes, and 4 of them giving me cyberskin back pack x4, and one pet 50% xp buffer?

Really?

I don't care WHAT the odds are, that's a rip off with out question.

If it isn't changed, me and many here will tell people to avoid them like the plague, as no matter what small chance there if the value isn't there, then no value can be assigned cause it simply isn't gonna be bought.

Crap items are crap, they don't need to be the majority of a cubes items.
Random is fine, if you need to get lucky to get that just right item, by all means luck is fine, but the value of getting something that still has "value" needs to be consistent. If the swim suits are the good items, then that "worst" item should still have a similar value as to the suit.

Right now the cubes don't, and this makes them worthless IMO.

Well I have some feedback that can be better called suggestions:

1) I strongly feel that all gamble boxes should at least never contain costumes. Those costumes add no stats and only influence appeal. Make a beauty shop to dress up your character but never involve gamble to get them. People really hate gambling and this will reduce price of the costumes so that non AP spenders can enjoy in exchange of hard earned gold. I seen a lot of success in games that offer beauty products that are not over-priced and doesn't involve gambling. Leave the gambling to smaller things.

The major problem with this idea, is that for it to work, Aeria and Liveplex would have to perpertually design new costumes to draw buyers.

A fixed price will sell out to everyone who wants the costume in 1-2 weeks. And then the market is flooded, and the costume becomes undesirable. The only solution for this is creating more costumes.

And their creating a variety of new costumes every so often is bad and uncommon how? Random boxes that apparently VERY rarely pay out will piss off a lot of people which may then take their money and leave. If you give people the ability to get what they want they will more likely be happy, stick around and keep getting more new costumes as they come along.

Lottery boxes are fine for soaking up my spare change after a purchase. I might throw my last 100 AP at a box on the off chance I get something good, but I'm not pulling my credit card out of my wallet for a lottery. If I want to buy an item, you'd better give me a way to buy that exact item.

Class locking vanity items such as outfits is just a barrier to my committing to a purchase. I went to the founders items many times during the CB and hemmed and hawed over buying them, but I never did. The biggest reason was I was not settled on the class yet, had the item been class open I probably would have bought it and left it in my inventory for whichever class I decided on. Bind the item on equiq, but don't make me choose at the store. And certainly don't have different classes in a lottery.

I generally don't buy consumables, maybe to use up change. But I never ever buy items that expire. I wont rent bag space, if you want to sell me a bag than it had better last forever.

I've spent money on free to play games before, but stuff needs to be cheap and plentiful. You'll get more money out of me with a bunch of one buck items than you ever will with a twenty buck item. I might buy one, but probably not.

And stop with the points already. Just let me pay cash and the exact price. We're not dumb and we know what you are trying to do when I can only by 2000 points and the items costs don't add up evenly. Stop that crud.

In short, stop trying to manipulate or maneuver me into a sale and just offer me a better product.

the limits on the 69 item shop sort of discourages having more than one character...

Maybe have it at 2 or 3 could make it better... (since they are already Non-tradeable)

There are too many non-tradeable items at rather high prices...However I am not sure if it is just because the purchasing power of my currency is weak or you really set a rather high bar for a lot of items (only the fetch datachip was reasonably cheap for what it can do for you, the rest are questionable at L1 chips unless they can be obtained in game via raids).

Non-tradeable items need to be rather cheap as those things can't really generate you in-game gold, you can't sell them, it's just there...Tradeable ones can be slightly more expensive, but not so that nobody will buy them...

I agree with the lotto boxes being on the expensive side, the only good lucky box out there is the backpack one, and even that isn't completely well (at least you only lose a few AP if you get the 1x 30d backpack), you need to consider repricing them or fixing the items you get from them.

$4.99 for 3 CP Hypovials that only restores 1/3 of your CP in a 1min cd isn't even game-breaking...

Oh and make lucky box costume drops tradeable, that way we can see a bit more active in-game economy...It's pretty dumb (forgive my word, I can't find a nicer one) that I'll use a Lingerie box on my Sentinel only to get a Lingerie, the rarest item in there, but it's tailored for a Defender...And I can't even trade that Lingerie for the sentinel version or make money off it, it just sits there in my AP Inventory, unuseable, unloved. Sad

I am a sucker and your ideal customer...

Well shame on me for not knowing how Aeria Games work...
I prefer Subscription games... but have played my shared o F2P with Item Malls..

Never have I come across a game with such extremely low odds to get useful items out of the 'Gambling Boxes' ..

I bought 10 boxes.... got the junk stuff...
I bought another 20 boxes... same deal...
I bought 40 boxes.... same deal...
Finally I bought another 40 boxes.. same deal..

110 boxes (plus I bought the bike and elite jump start cube) for $350 and only the bike and jump start cube useful...

oh well I am a sucker....

this game is now 100% F2P to me... my wallet is permanently closed.. Smile

Those lottery boxes need to go away, far away, like down into a deep dark abyss away. You guys should know by now how much the vast majority of players abhor lottery boxes. Now if you were to turn them into a lottery box that would give you a costume with 100% chance for a random class, then we're talking a good idea there. Putting complete undesirables in the box with hilariously low chances of success to get something good is a bad idea. Just look at the flame storms that popped up once you introduced them to Grand Fantasia and Eden Eternal, need I say more?

Prices are a bit too high for my liking. Shelling out $20 for an almost required item is kind of steep in my opinion. That price could be cut in half and be more attractive. The bike and data chips, yeah those are overpriced. A minimum of a 30-50% reduction would be almost required to get non-heavy spenders to buy them.

Yes but the problem with the boxes is so many other games have done the lottery box and people already know how this works so they wont buy them anyway. There will only be the select few who will keep buying them hoping to get that extremely rare item so they can sell for gold to buy new gear and be among the top players of the server. I've seen games pull an epic fail because of this one being Sword of the New World. The game has been through about 4 different companies because the sales get so low. They just recently had the game transfer over to T3Fun in early Jan and the servers are already dead.

They can do one of two things, keep the boxes make some money at first before people get sick of buying the boxes and quit the game all together or keep players happy who will stay with the game long term and spend money over time creating alt chars and sticking around for new content.

I for one would play this still once FFXIV RR or PSO2 comes out but if they keep the lottery box system ill go right over to one of them especially since PSO2 is a cash shop game with out lottery boxes.

Where oh where are our direct purchase clothing options. This game is about the cosplay outfits and we were assured that while the cubes would be in the mall, that the items would also be purchasable directly.
Please do so. you did ok with the bikes and unsealers. But the clothes are the big sellers.
I want to be able to buy the outfit I want for my character. not a random class and not a buy 200 for a chance to get one.
I have put a good bit of money into this game and plan to keep spending but will not buy any of those boxes.
Also, do not make the outfits cost more then they would in real life. Keep it real.
I did buy the bike, 2 pets, and 3 chips and am just waiting on my reoccurring to hit to get some more. hoping the outfits get in there soon.
You have a short window to keep the players, keep the cash shop as a casino and you will loose a lot of your current player base.

I just remembered I posted this the other day in a different thread, thought I'd bring it here again:

--- I spent a lot of time on lottery boxes in another MMO last year when they had a Buy One, Get One Free promo going on them.

You could get various pieces of a costume set (7 different pieces) or other random items from the cash shop in-game.

I think I opened about the same amount of boxes as masterdrakan did for this but there were three very big differences and I'm seeing similar commentary pop up elsewhere at the moment.

1. The boxes themselves were quite cheap in terms of real life currency (spending $30 would get you about 50 of them from memory) whereas here $30 will get you less than 15

2. The items that you could also pull from the boxes were valuable in their own right and tradeable.

3. The chances of getting the costume pieces was (by the sounds of things) MUCH higher as I actually completed the costume set on two different characters and got 4/7 on a third. ---

Now just to add one more thing to this, sure I ended up with an absurd amount of costume pieces (had 8 pairs of shoes for one chara and 5 hair pieces for another) but I did actually GET bits of the costume. I was expecting to log in last night and see the Chat and AH flooded with offers on the new costumes.

I saw one on AH and three people on Chat and that was it which didn't seem encouraging
