Cannot Download Scarlet Blade
If you are using the Aeria Downloader or Ignite you may come across an error where you cannot install Akamai, or Akamai cannot initialize correctly giving you an "ak_error" message.

Install the Akamai NetSession Interface separately, direct from Akamai then run the Scarlet Blade installer normally.
Just to go http://client.akamai.com/misc/demos/BasicDownload.html and click to start the download. It's a demo download, but it will have you install the Interface. Don't bother opening the demo file, but do let it install the Interface.

Once Akamai is installed, just run the Scarlet Blade installer.
Thanks to lestaticon for this soultion.

An old guide of mine from Eden Eternal on Akamai not initializing.

Alternatively you can try downloading the client from one of our unofficial mirrors.

My Closed Beta Mirror
My Closed Beta Mirror 2
Closed Beta Installer Torrent (If you use this please seed for a while to help others that have to use these alternatives.)
Fully Patched client (Note: This will not register Scarlet Blade in Ignite if Ignite is not already installed. It is intended only to be used as an alternative to bypass client errors.)

Launcher/Login Window Are White.
If you start the launcher and the background/login window shows only white there are a few things you can try;
- Make sure Internet Explorer is up to date, you can do this by running Windows Update and allowing the Internet Explorer updates to install. Even if you do not use this for browsing the Launcher does and will produce this error if out of date.
- Make sure that Adobe Flash plugins for Internet Explorer are installed and up to date.
- Allow the SBLauncher.exe through your anti-virus and firewall, if it is being blocked it will not be able to access the internet to display the background or login page.

Cannot Install Scarlet Blade
Some people have experienced issues installing the game; such as having the installer run through and Ignite still reads as the game is uninstalled, not having proper permissions or simply having an incomplete download.

In the event of Ignite reading as if the game is not installed there is a fair chance that the game did not actually install, mostly due to their anti-virus killing the install without proper notification. Easiest thing to do is try disabling the anti-virus and then installing manually. Ignite's default download location for Scarlet Blade is C:\ProgramData\Aeria Games\Ignite\Downloads\sb Just run the scarletblade_us_installer_20130306.exe and follow the normal installation process.

For people getting messages about permission errors try running the scarletblade_us_installer_20130306.exe as an administrator. Windows Vista and later treats Administrator accounts and Administrator rights as different things so you will need to right click and select Run as Administrator to get around this error if you have it. This does work for a few other installation issues as well.

In some cases the installer will just sit on the "Execute: \..\scarletblade_us_installer_20130306sfx.exe" (path and date may vary) Sometimes this can be as simple as running the installer as an administrator, however it may also be a sign that the download never completed correctly, usually because of the anti-virus seeing Scarlet Blade as a false positive. If the sizes do not match up with the sizes listed below try redownloading from one of the mirrors listed above and with your anti-virus disabled so it doesn't snipe it a second time.

At the time of Closed Beta the installation files look like this.
aeria_ignite_install.exe 3.38MB
scarletblade_us_installer_20130306.exe 5.75MB
scarletblade_us_installer_20130306sfx.exe 1.89GB

Ignite's default download location for Scarlet Blade is C:\ProgramData\Aeria Games\Ignite\Downloads\sb
Aeria Downloader defaults to C:\AeriaGames\Downloader

Cannot find the patch files's query information.
,client/gameoption.xml, 404,

Currently some may experience this error when they click "Check files" on the launcher. We are aware of this and are checking into it. Currently no fix.

CLR Error: 80004005. The program will now terminate.
If you get this error while running from Ignite make sure to install the latest version of the .NET Framework which can be downloaded from here.

"Queens Launcher Has Stopped Working"
If your launcher stops working and gives this message a few things you can try doing are;
-Allow the SBLauncher.exe and SB.exe through your antivirus
-Make sure Internet Explorer is up to date since the launcher uses it
-Run the program in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP
-Try running as Admin by right clicking and selecting Run As Administrator
-Try downloading from one of our mirrors and reinstalling the game.
-If you are using Windows Vista try disabling UAC. Instructions

Cannot Continue Patching due to D-patchdata0000#.rtp
If you receive an error about the D-patchdata0000#.rtp file while patching first try clearing your Internet Explorer cache and cookies, if that does not work try the solutions below.

Following up on that temporary fix, here are the next steps to try to resolve:
1) Download CCleaner using the piriform.com download link: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner//download
2) Close Aeria Ignite, all browser windows and Scarlet Blade launcher.
3) Install CCleaner - skip adding the Recycle Bin options and adding Google Chrome (these are not needed)
4) Run CCleaner
5) Setup the options to match the following two images (this way it only clears what we need to clear)
CCleaner Page 1
CCleaner Page 2
6. Click Run Cleaner
7. Restart your computer.
8. Run Aeria Ignite and the Scarlet Blade launcher again.
Thanks to draakdorei for this soultion.

The following steps are a possible fix for the patching error issue. Reliability will vary.

1. Close Scarlet Blade Launcher and Aeria Ignite
2. Navigate to Scarlet Blade installation folder (Ex: C:\AeriaGames\ScarletBlade)
3. Open VersionInfo.ini
4. Set the Client # back one. (Ex: 11 becomes 10)
5. Save and close VersionInfo.ini
6. Run Scarlet Blade

This should force a full re-patch of v11 and then continue on to the current patch (as of this post, patch v13). This method can also be done if the client won't connect after a maintenance and the player tried to login to the game during maintenance.
Thanks to draakdorei for this soultion.

Missing d3dx9_43.dll
If you are missing this file you need to install Directx 9.0c even if you have Directx 11 installed you need the directx 9.0c files as well. They can be downloaded from Microsoft's DirectX Web Installer or try the DirectX end-user redistributable if the web installer fails you.

Missing Cabinet File When Installing Direct X
If you receive the error "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. please verify the Cryptographic services are enabled and cabinet file certificate is valid." try the following steps.

Ensure Cryptographic Services are enabled
1. Go to Start and type Services into the search bar.

2. When Services open find Cryptographic Service and if it is not Started double click to
open a Window where you will find an option to start the service.

3. The Starup type should be set to Automatic.

Remove old DirectX files and reinstall
1. Navigate to \Windows\System32\directx\ or \Windows\SysWow64\directx if you have Windows XP/Vista/7 x64.

2. Click on "Organise" file menu, then "Folder and search options" then in the "View" tab check "show hidden files and folders" and then "ok"

3. Websetup folder will be visible now. go in there and delete all contents.

4. Run Microsoft's DirectX Web Installer or try the DirectX end-user redistributable if the web installer fails you.
Thanks to draakdorei for this soultion.

Shader Version Not Supported
Scarlet Blade requires a video card with Pixel Shader 3.0 support. If you are unsure if your card supports this or not you can check many sites on Google such as gpureview.com, It is also good to make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

Failed to Connect With Login Server
This can happen for several reasons; either a bad connection, servers being down for maintenance or, more common in this Beta phase, your anti-virus or firewall are blocking Scarlet Blade from making a proper connection. Depending on your anti-virus you may need to add the SB.exe, SBLauncher.exe or even the entire installation folder for the game.

Game Closes Randomly At Start
If your game is closing right after clicking "Game Start" you may need to add Scarlet Blade to your anti-virus exceptions list. Depending on your anti-virus you may need to add the SB.exe, SBLauncher.exe or even the entire installation folder for the game.

At the moment if the login servers are down the game client will simply close without any error messages, if you are experiencing this you can visit the shoutbox and ask if the server is down.

It is also good to make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

Runtime Error
If you get an error message saying Runtime Error you need to install the proper C++ Runtime Environments, Scarlet Blade requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. If you have a 32 bit operating system use this one, if you are running a 64 bit operating system install the the 32 bit C++ runtimes as well as the 64 bit version for the best compatibility.

No Sound In-game
For people with 7.1 surround sound you might come across an issue where you have no sound in game. Configuring your sound to 5.1 surround or stereo may fix this for you. This appears to be an issue mostly with Logitech 7.1 headphones.
Thanks to Arglaar for this soultion.

Cannot Load Into Dungeons
A very select few of the community have been experiencing an issue where they are unable to enter dungeons and just hang on the loading screen until eventually the client crashes. The Scarlet Blade team is aware of this and is looking into it. As of now the only solution is to try running the SB.exe in compatibility mode for Windows 95, more information here and here.
Thanks to freaknintendo for this soultion and MastaJ16 for the video.

If you use compatibility mode for Windows 95 and get an Access_Violation error make sure your .NET framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is installed.

ATL100.DLL Missing/Cannot Find

Try re-installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. If you have a 32 bit operating system use this one, if you are running a 64 bit operating system install the the 32 bit C++ runtimes as well as the 64 bit version for the best compatibility.

There have been issues in the past with McAfee users on other programs getting this error as well, might sound odd but uninstalling McAfee and rebooting fixed the issue for them. You may also need to run the McAfee Installation Removal Tool before reinstalling McAfee.

Missing Characters
If you are unable to find your characters first make sure you are not looking for characters from Alpha or Closed Beta phases as these have been wiped, as for missing Open Beta or later characters try the following.

1) Launch Scarlet Blade
2) Click Refresh when looking at the Server Screen
3) Right click the Server name and click Connect
4) Characters should appear at their correct levels

If you are still unable to find a character please send a ticket to the Contact Us.

Thanks to all those that have taken the time to PM me with things that I am missing, if you see something that you think should be up here let me know and I will review it and post it up if appropriate.
