Yes I'm trying to do it on one day. Since on any random day/time when someone makes an FS room, not enough players join to play. Yet on other days, many of those same players can be caught saying they wish there were more FS. So, rather than having us continue 'rolling the dice' making FS matches without notice, I try to set it on a day that doesn't interfere with Aeria-run events/promos and also which gives players some time to prepare. It's Monday now so 4 days is enough to work on weapons and find/make teams to practice with (besides most ppl only have like 1 maybe 2 FS weps anyways lolol). So this way players can expect more interest and watchful eyes towards random FS matches that are made at the Melee Receptionist on Friday.

If people want to build other modes back up, it has to start somewhere. Something like this.....

1. Get players interested
2. More matches need to be created at Melee Receptionist
3. More of those matches need ppl to join and wait til it fills
4. More players need weapons and alternate/backup weapons for this mode
5. Players need to practice on their own with guildmates/teammates and eventually teach others

right?

So giving people time to prepare and make themselves available, get some practice in before Friday etc. would better help the odds of having successful destroy matches, right? Plus, regarding the comment about retired players, if a player retired because of all the CF favoritism and saw there's a day coming up for another mode, ....hey who knows maybe they'll show up. Besides there's tons of retired players I wouldn't mind seeing around here again.

And yes, I made it for one day and chose Friday because it's close to the weekend, new promos come out on that day and players log in, make plans to spend, and other things like planning availability/activities with guildmates. This can't work on the weekends because it gets interrupted by Aeria's events/promo/random CP.

I necro'd my old thread because it still serves the exact same purpose as any new one I made, it's already got a few pages of talk on it so it doesn't look like something I just thought of, and saves me time making a new thread.

Hence, the whole thing is boring.   I dont see the problem with making a "event" out of it (specially cause its not a real event but a weekly change of gamemodes) thing is if you dont want to make the event okay but when you put it like this its way better than only telling the ppl to stop cfing. Here you have 1 day where most of the ppl say "okay its event FS (this week for example) lets focus on creating those kind of matches" so you can be quite certain you dont have to wait too long for rooms to fill (if a few ppl agree on participating in this event BUT the reactions in this thread are mostly positive from what i saw) IF you cannot participate this day or you simply hate the gamemode then you can just ignore it and do your own stuff there will be enough ppl cfing or farming anyways. next fridays event vote: treasure

Lion and any other player that wants to promote FS or Capture or whatever. You guys are trying too hard to get the ONLY confronters to do something else. ATTACK THE YOUTHS (new players) STAY IN COURTYARD AND HELP THEM OUT AND GET THEM INTO FS. AND GET OTHER PEOPLE IN OTR FACTIONS TO DO THE SAME. THEN NEW PLAYERS WILL BE MAKING FS AGAINST EACHOTHER AND AS THEY RANK UP THEY WILL GET BETTER. THUS MAKING MORE MATCHES!

Hey thanks for the message Ventus. I thought about it for a bit before answering. I agree that new players should be taught about FS also, but since there are way more CF players than new players, it makes more sense to go for CF players. Another advantage about reaching for CF players is that they're already familiar how to play DWO, whereas I'd have to teach new players the basics of the whole game plus all the rules/strategies of Destroy and have so much time go by for them to practice and become good. Plus try to get others to do the same thing in other factions? I'd like to do all that but as for me personally, I just don't have time for it.... I work 2 jobs man! Though I will help players that ask questions from me, I can't go out of my way to do all those things. I know there's others that have the time and do this type of stuff though.

Say... since it was your idea? Why don't you help with this task? 0o

Though there was a movement like this in the past that Shou had started. We were going to teach all our new players in Shu how to play the game proper. The only issue was that the new folks didn't reach out (despite the majority of players reaching out for them). The second part of the equation is that the the new folks actually listen to the more experienced players. More times than not, I've seen new folks ignore the advice of more experienced players (and alot of times it just erupts into large arguments). The last part is that the other players who are experienced don't be tight-wads about the new folks joining in on matches. This drives them off, and does not really give them a chance to apply what they've learned in actual combat.
