Floating damage?

What is that?
I just recently got an astral saying, floating damage expands by 3%. I'm just wondering what does that exactly mean. Any feedback would be appreciated! Very Happy

This was quoted from elsewhere.

I did do an observation of this Astral so many times, and I found out that, Floating Damage can increase your damage only when you attack simultaneously in same target, every each skill attack will increased in 100 (Orange Astral lvl2 = Floating damage Expand 14%), so it depends on the level of your Astral.
Example: your Slasher deal 500 and Ultimate Slasher 1000, imagining that your a KNIGHT, and you are in a fight, you will select the 1st skill w/c is the Slasher.
(First Attack, the damage is Slasher = 500) and then Enemy's turn.
(Second Attack, you choose Ultimate Slasher = 1000 damage) and then Enemy's turn.
(3rd Attack, when you choose Slasher, the damage dealt now is 600) and then Enemy's turn
(4th Attack, when you select Ultimate Slasher, the damage now dealt 1100) and so on and so forth,
But this is if you continuously attack one target only, If you changed target, the damage dealt will reset and go back to its base damage.

Float Damage is the range in which damage can be. Normal Damage range is 90%-110% of the base.

Say you have 2000 PAtk and Defender has 1000 PDef, your base damage is then 1000 damage. So normally with an attack that does 100% Attack Damage your range will be 900-1,100 Damage.

If you have a 20% float that changes the range in which your damage can be from 90%-110% to 70%-130%.

Meaning your damage of 900-1,100 then becomes 700-1300.

The Astral is a double edged sword. It can make you kill things faster or slower.

We're having a debate about this in Guild Chat. If you're an archer with a tendency to crit a lot, does this then mean that most of your attacks will be at the high end of the floating damage range? Or does your crit range also expand, so some crits will be lower, and some crits will be higher, averaging out to the same?

If crit is a multiplier of base damage, then this astral gets to be pretty useless. But if crit is a modification of the chance of achieving the high end of the floating damage, then this might be awesome, in the right situation.

Any testers yet?
