Help with Gunz and Windows 8

I just currently installed Gunz on my new computer with Windows 8, and sure enough after the loading screen finishes and says Loading Done the game crashes and gives me a reference to memory error. I read some threads before this and most of them say that I should dual boot windows 7&8 together, problem being I don't have win7. So I found out that Windows 8 has a compatibility mode that you can run programs with, and I tried everyone of them(win7,winVista(sp1,2),winXP(sp2,3), and that didn't work out either for me. Is there anything else I can try to do or will I have to wait for Win8 compatibility on Gunz which could take a while.

Thank You Very Much,

VMWARE + Windows 7

I'm currently running just fine on a virtual machine. No lag for me.

There are ways to get Windows 7 but all in good intentions

I also have Windows 8 and have tried countless times to try and run GunZ. Not a single one works, so I am going to just rely on a patch or for somebody to find a way into it. Whichever one comes first.

I don't think Aeria games has any intention, at least currently to try to do anything with problems concerning win8. Its more like if you don't have win7 then go find a copy of it, and we haven't even got any official announcements from the GM's regarding whether Aeria is trying to fix this or not, even just a small post in forums that they are working on it would be helpful but were just left in the dark Sad

-There's a workaround (that involves dual booting or partitioning your hard drive so it can run windows 7 and then launch gunz)

-Windows 8 recently came out, and there are other issues that players are complaining about.

-I don't think it's aeria's responsibility to make the game compatibile with windows 8 as they just host/publish the game. MAIET created the game, so they have to add in the compatibility for windows 8, which as you can guess may take a while. [Not sure on this one though]

There was one post in the general discussion from someone who got it to work on windows 8, but there isn't a known fix as of right now.

Anyway, I will add this to my list of fixes ;o

Work Around isn't just the partitioning to dual boot.

"VMWare" - Supports 3D Graphics emulation. So you really don't need to dual boot. Virtual machine runs fine under 2 CPU's and 2Gigs of ram for the setup of the virtual machine.

Thus you do not have to restart and boot into windows 7 to play guns.
