Make that half a year-ish (May/June), and 12-13 GSes (of which four or five quit for RL reasons, the rest for ... well ... a rather different reason). Take the 2-3 months before that into account as well, and 20 would be a fairly accurate number, though.

When a Game Sage quits it isn't necessarily the end of the world. We on Grand Fantasia just had a Game Sage quit because he is busy with school. And I've seen a few GS's quit because they were pretty stupid with their connection to the GM's. *Cough* Either way, just because a game sage quits, doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

They quit by their own accord. Some tried to reapply later (as they were strongly encouraged to do so), but were rejected for reasons I will leave to Aeria to explain you (no, I did not reapply).
