Meh, I got a buck and an amusing pm from GMVenom for changing my sig to something I don't care about. Since you mention it, changing it back to normal was overdue.

I know I'M not trying any other games by Aeria until/unless the glitch is fixed. Aeria is teetering on losing a customer for good here.

It's SOP for game companies to have "cross promos" or cross advertising of new games that they offer to get players hooked on more of their games to make more $$$, on top of player retention and brand loyalty.

They don't care that we hate it. They will not come back to read this thread. They just post and run. Unfortunately DWO never seemed to have this cross promotion attention that I can recall. (And yes it's true, I used to do it for a game company as part of my duties..... before my position got outsourced and I was laid off.)

Our community is mostly immune to these advertisements by now. Earlier on, people tried out other Aeria games that were advertised here, with less outcry than is visible these days. Iirc, the Aeria cannibalism mostly came from Metal Assault, RoTT, and Eden Eternal. Most of these departing players returned and the first two games that I listed have shut down. We'll probably lose a few to Scarlet Blade because of the eye candy, but I don't see much substance to that game, so those people will come back too. The people who leave at this point are leaving Aeria completely.
