School system here would have sent the kid home and prolly give a few days in school detention.anything along those line with saying such as that beer liquor drugs isnt allowed in a school and is punishable by detention and or suspension and im pretty sure its that way across the shcool systems nation wide.

If the shirt had something profane on it, the teacher acted in a manner as they should have, and got the student to change out of it. This is done to protect other students or staff from being offended.

They could have sent them home or had them suspended for it (heard of that happening before), so I think getting them to simply change their shirt was quite generous.
