I got an email 2 weeks asking me to log in to dispute a selling of my account (phishing scam) as I never registered a WOW account with that email) and promptly let them know how I felt about it when they asked for my username and password.

Funny thing is the horrendous english should be enough to thwart such success..but obviously they succeed every day or they wouldn't send out these things in masse.

Here is a copy of the email (With actual links removed!)

Surprisingly enough I have not gotten any of these pertaining to Shaiya yet but I know the day will come soon enough Razz

i get that same email and i never sign up for wow at all. *_* . i dont even open the email. i just deleted it

I don't have a Blizzard account, but have had a few emails now like this:

Greetings!

It has come to our attention that you are trying to sell your personal Diablo III account(s).
As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with the EULA and Terms of Agreement.
If this proves to be true, your account can and will be disabled.
It will be ongoing for further investigation by Blizzard Entertainment's employees.
If you wish to not get your account suspended you should immediately verify your account ownership.

Very phishy - but it would perhaps scare some people who did have accounts there into giving their secret data away! As you might expect, hovering over the "link" provided shows a different address, too long to be shown in full...to be on the safe side I've added a few spaces here to disable it. Read it carefully and it's pretty unconvincing - and why would logging in to their site disprove allegations about account selling?

The moral is, however convincing and official an email seems, do not use links it provides to try to log in to your game account.

Eh, normal and done as soon as I read it in the news. Explains why my gaming account e-mail has been receiving massive amounts in uptick spam.

It's funny how in the emails it says that blizzards staff will be investigating the accounts when its not blizzard staff that does it, GM's don't have the authority and have to send it to the Battle team to overview it. All GM's do is decide which tickets to push and act as customer service.
