The main issue with op inflation is that Ops are now a currency and now need to pay for things as well as link. If gold still had value the need for ops would drop to just linking.

GMs can reduce gold by offering to [url]regularly[/url] sell items for gold (only) so that people will see that gold can still get you something you want. Currently gold can't really get anything much besides an op that is used to buy high demand items.

They are changing the way gold is done in EP6.

Say you have 3,918,320,217 Gold.

It will become
003 Gold 918 Silver 320 Copper

(Notice there is no currency for the 217, as they cut the last 3 digits off of Billion, making it Million).

Furthermore, we will be able to hold 999 Gold (equivelant of what would currently be 999 Billion).

I'm thinking about the game play. You want to get exp? Kill mobs. I don't see how it could be different. If you wanna "buy" EXP, buy "plvl" and this is already a problem.

A new player don't have 1 billion to spend to get 16-30. So again, only rich people would level up fast.

Sorry but I don't see how it can be a solution, not only looking at the game economy, that's a general view.

OP is expensive but other AP items are ridiculously priced too. Lucky Charms and Rec runes go for way more than OPs. Most people aren't complaining about it because they don't use these items. They use OPs exclusively to trade, similar to the uber rich players who they are angry with. I am sick of the charade every side(poor, rich, AP, non-AP, AGE) is trying to pull here. All want more for less for themselves and not really thinking of a viable solution.

Economy is not only about hard numbers, it is both a science and an art. People react to new information. The new system just means more can be charged to AP items. Instead of a cap at 4bil the cap go to 10 bil. The question is would AP buyers be willing to accept new currency for trade or still only accept OPs as it is the way to trade for AP funcards.

You can predict those actions, specifically if the money supply is reduced to 1/1000th of what it currently is, which is what Ep6 is going to do. I am 100% certain week 1-2 of the patch, players will attempt creating inflation to to 4-5 gold. Whether that price holds, will all depend on how they change gold drops in game. There's a fairly good chance not enough buyers will be able to pay a sudden 4-5 gold if the farming of gold goes really slow.

Also, as said in another thread, 3 million OP's look far more attractive to new players than do 3 billion ones.

Ratio is the same. Unless of course you mean our gold will be completely devalued similar to a gold wipe in new epi. Then forget that.

I think there are other games that have this as well. I guess this means that the default weapon/armor values will change as well to reflect gold/silver/copper.

The exchange rate of gold (in-game items) and OP (AP items) depends on:

- AP sales
- AP Item cost (Promotions)
- AP Item value/use in-game
- In-game drops (farming speed/rate)
- In-game value/use of drops

Surely selling Exp for Gold is a form of a gold sink, but not a solution to the economy issues of this game. It's more or less comparable to selling "increase exp gain" AP items at an NPC merchant instead of the AP mall. It helps a bit, but the biggest cost by far is upgrading gear. As long as nearly all of the upgrades have to be bought, the inflation will keep rising.

The issue is this:
- All enchanting over [1] has to come from AP items.
- Competitive lapises come from the AP mall for ~75% of all lapises
- Orange stats come from AP items
- Linking of competitive lapiseses requires AP items
- Competitive gear nearly all comes from the AP mall

Aside a few lapises and a few gear items there is simply nothing you can farm that interests a lvl 70 player who wants to build pvp gear. For a healthy demand/supply economy, there is not enough demand for in-game obtained items.

Agreed. Most 70s feel that they don't have much to do except pvp.
Farm places for 70s:
1. ROTCO: difficult even if there are many people. Cool-down time.
2. Queen Venus: 10% dropping rate? takes 20 to 40 min? no way.
3. OI: ...lvl 6 lapis? lvl 60s can do OI too in the past with the help of a few more people.
4. CS: now a pvp place between Light and Dark
5. SC: no 70 will farm there for the cheap lvl 6 debuff from mobs. And SC boss has also become pvp region.
