I think a lot of people are missing the point of this Trinity Token deal. First, nobody has to do it. It's an option for those that want to get the new gear right away with minimal effort. There is always the option of wearing your linked/enchanted/oj'd 70 sets and farming the new gear yourself, then selling your 70 set. Or just stay in your 70 set until the 75+ gear comes out. Why does everyone feel like they have to be maxed out on day 1? Take a little time to work your way through the new content. Enjoy actually working for your new gear. Don't worry if player X has a full set of new gear while you're still in ROTCO/70ap gear.
Think about it this way: When dreamy gear came out, people rushed to be the best, linked a bunch of dreamy with 6s and 7s, then, omg, new gear comes out. Repeat cycle. OMG, now there's 70 gear, repeat cycle. What happened to the old gear? Guys like me who are in no rush made due with their 55-60 set for a little longer, then bought other peoples linked dreamy. Then 65+ set. I figure I'll start getting my 70 set together when the rest of you are racing to get your 80 sets. People asked me frequently why I had dreamy leggings with max HP oj, 6/7 mystic, 6/7 safe, and 5/6 abso, (I mean, who links grinding gear that well?) Well, I didn't link it. Someone else did a few days after ep5 came out cause they had to have the best right away. I was patient, took my time leveling, enjoyed GSing, and bought their dreamy gear for 1/10th of what they were trying to scrape up to buy 70 gear. I did the same with my 65+ set. Again, multiple max OJ's, stat and life 7s in every piece, abso's, etc etc all at a discount price because I was patient.
So yeah, you can take this option of trading in your maxed out 70 gear for clean 71+ gear (plus a handful of lapisia and rec runes,) or you can wear your gear while you level and farm pieces yourself (my personal favorite.) Or yeah, you can wait a while then sell your maxed out gear for 1/10th of what you'll need to buy a clean piece of new gear.
