I applaud the OP for taking a stand and wanting to see changes.
I have, on occasion, made similar pleas to the community.
While it is true, as stated earlier in the thread, that these "call to arms" movements can backfire and send people fleeing in disgust, I think that it is equally as true that when we stop looking for the answers, we simply resign ourselves to living with the problems.
I'd like to put a little different twist on the topic by asking the question in a slightly different light. What would you, as a member of the Shaiya community, be willing to endure in an effort to restore a workable economy to the game?
We have heard in the past the maybe they should wipe the entire game economy and start over. If that happened, how many would stay? This is information that AGE has to have before they even consider putting any drastic plan in motion. As far as I know, there is no plan to do this and it is only used as an example.
One of the first steps is to increase community involvement. As was also stated earlier, a very small percentage of the players actually use forums. I think that talking to your friends and guildies in game, that never come here, and encouraging them to weigh in on the subject, would be a good start.
Most problems have a solution and I imagine that this situation has one as well. Whether it's incredibly complicated or very simple and easily applied, will depend a great deal on what the public will accept.
I believe that threads such as this are helpful in the long run because they create discussion and keep people thinking of solutions. The only way to guarantee failure is to never try so keep working at it.
Be good to each other and enjoy the game.
