I don't believe LC is going to die any time soon. We still have not heard from Errat on what went down in Korea with the devs. I'm sure there will be lots of new cool stuff to keep noobies rollin through the door and keep veterans from rollin out.

As to Veterans....these folk are awesome. No one can dispute that to spend 3 or more years playing a game is quite a feat.

The only bad part about being a veteran, as I myself am one, we can and do easily become jaded with the game we have stuck to so long.

For some veterans, also like myself, it becomes more of a hobby really....part of our daily Life routine.....we don't spend hours on hours end anymore glued to the screen at every waking moment....it just integrates into our daily lives.....

Heck sometimes it even becomes the fish aquarium in the house....screen up occasionally stopping by to admire....

Everyone has their little niche they develop when passing into that Veteran self stage.......

Those that don't find that niche, generally move onto other games where they do find one

Well said : ) agree 100% However when the cap is raised i find myself spending every free hour of the day playing again Razz but that only lasts so long. But new content for low to mid levels helps alot too. Atleast in my case. My 2 mains that i play were both past the levels for alot of the newer content they released for mid to low levels. So i never really had a chance to experience it. I just recently started a healer though and decided to play through the game from the begining again. It's really like a whole new game from what i remeber. I'm just takin my time and enjoying all the content. No xpb or anything. Atleast not anytime soon. She is at lvl 80 atm and i gotta say i havnt had this much fun playing LC in a long time Smile

Loving how many people read the title the title and just answer, and how many are saying that this thread is going to get locked.
If it were locked, it would just add to the fact that the state of the game is getting worse.

One thing that I've criticized Aeria for a lot has been the fact that they don't listen. Now, before you read that and say "But look at all the p2 pets! Look at the jumping potions being removed! Look at when (I personally) asked for free rewards to come back in November and they had by Monday!"

I know.

But, often Aeria, in my mind, fails to acknowledge the negative. In doing so, I feel that it's doing more harm to the game. Yeah, you get lots of trolls that expect miracles in an instant, and you get people who start threads like this one but with a serious push to try and ruin LC when a new game comes out, but those aren't all the posts that get locked, deleted, forgotten.

I know in many ways they are limited by the developers. That's fine. BUT if that's the case, maybe those aren't the developers you should be working with, I'm just saying. Because really, how long did it take to ground the commies in tomb? Years. Years and years. Did I say years?
If your thinking of saying "Well yeah but it did get fixed." I say not good enough, in today's standards. This game was in beta for such a long time and though tomb wasn't even out there back then (believe it or not) there were so many glitches that haven't been fixed yet. That's kinda the point of the beta. That's kinda why I'm so supportive of yesterday's release, because if you watch any videos on youtube, you SEE THE DEVELOPERS AND THE COMPANY PLAYING WITH THE PLAYERS. That's something that this crew, pre erra and all the current gm team, missed out on when LC was first starting up, and I feel screwed over everyone, gm and player alike today. They didn't even play their own game, and when going through tickets seemingly just brushed the bad stuff away about the game, and responded only to the bad players that would exploit the game, when the problem lies more in the game than the player in that instance.

tl;dr: wall of text.

If I were to answer I think it would breach some rule, but the people who are interested know what it means.
I'd answer and get the thread locked like so many people predicted would have well ago happened, but I want to keep the discussion going because I think it's an important one to have, and I'm always interested to hear other people's thoughts and opinions. (Minus the trolls that just want the thread locked.)

Though I'll cave a little and say it has to do with another one of those games that always incites these kind of posts where everyone talks about leaving lc for a new game.

That being said, I'll reiterate that I feel that this go around is a warranted cause for this kind of talk, because I think a lot of mmos should be quite worried for their customer base.

You can go ahead and say it. If I think it is problematic, I will just remove it.

Guild wars 2 is on prerelease as of yesterday (April 10th), scheduled for around summertime release.

In short, puts the mmo back in mmorpg, and puts the rpg back in mmorpg.

LoL.. that isnt really an issue.

We always take a hit (across all games) whenever something big and new comes out. It could be Mass Effect 3, it could be Call of Duty, it could be Star Wars, it could be the next WoW expansion. When there is a new hot product, people go and check it out... that is how the market works.

However, we HAVE lost some market share to some games, specifically the F2P conversions by Turbine. I can honestly say that when they started converting their games to F2P, it changed the market, and it has had a lasting effect.

I like to think that this has helped to drive better quality games, and improvements in existing games. If there wasn't pressure to improve what was offered, I can not honestly say that we would have been able to get as much new content and game improvements for our games... let alone new higher quality games.
