Mushroom Treatment

No new news after several weeks
To be direct and to the point, what reason are you GM's giving any of us players to actually stay here and wait for this game to ever get off the ground? So far, you give tidits of information on rare occasion, seemingly when there is enough uproar and the potential for folks to write this game off just like Aeria has written other games off (Kitsu Saga for one). Aeria in general has a bad customer service reputation and to be blunt, you GM's need to learn what it means to keep communicaton lines open with your customers/players. If you truly want to keep interest, why aren't you giving weekly updates? Even if its just to say nothings new or at least discuss what things have been done/planned.

The fact you are not taking the time to post anything simply makes me feel you don't care and in turn it makes me not care about this game. So far, all that has been shown is over-hyping and under-delivering. I hope you think about this and consider actually keeping your players and customers informed instead of treating us like mushrooms - in the dark and... well, you know mushrooms!

Enjoy life to the fullest, but not at the expense of others!

First, let me apologize for even replying...

I am sorry.

2nd:
While I am still pretty pumped up bout LO I have to agree that the lack of news is saddening.
The forums are nearly dead....even smaller news (like those battle class introduction posts) will keep things a lil interesting and give people stuff to discuss about.

I see your point. All I can say is a repeat of past information.
The news about the game is passed from sirius to Aeria and this information is limited/or there is no information to give at the moment as the game is being fine tuned to the best it can be.

The only difference between this game and Aeria's others is that LO is being currently made by sirius WHILE Aeria has been allowed to host it/test it/translate it.

Game's like Eden Eternal basics were already made and tested then translated for Aeria's use. This is why LO is taking so long to come out on Aeria.

Like always all i can ask is for your patience and i hope that more information will come soon.

As said before, even small news would be okay. We allready got a info post bout warrior class....where is the news post for the other classes? Stuff like that would help allready. Keep people interested. As it is now I dont think LO will be one of those games that gets peoples attention easily...and I think aeria thinks the same (seeing that they had to give us a LO trailer that was double the speed as the original trailer to make people think the game is faster then it actually is). We dont need news like "the devs fixed 12 bugs today, hooray!"...even obvious stuff that most people might allready know might get new potential players attention...the community need this for sure...

Alright, apparently some people might have missed this post:
Lime Odyssey Status Report 3/15

And that's ok, but as much as I would give you all reasons to stay I cannot. Everyone is free come and go as they please as we are all anxiously waiting for Lime Odyssey.

I would love to shower you guys with information and constant attention, but unfortunately I cannot.

Again as I have mentioned before, Aeria is the publisher NOT the developer. Unless Sirius gives us new information we won't have new information to share. I'm not saying that Sirius is dropping the ball, but there is a lot that goes into game development and as much as we would all love to be transparent with you all- we cannot. Their priorities are to work on the development of the game and make it the best they possibly can. What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that these things take TIME.

I understand you guys are frustrated, but honestly these kind of posts are not helping the situation. Also, Chrystephen, you keep saying "you GMs". I'm sorry to break this to you, but I'm currently the only GM for LO. So I apologize for appearing as I am not supporting this game. I try to do my best to appear the SB and Forums, but I do have many other responsibilities and I am only one person. I hope everyone understands that. If you have your complaints, you are welcome to submit an RT via Contact Us or shoot me a PM. I do check my inbox daily and I try to answer any questions players have.

We are waiting for Lime on our end just as much as you guys. Please bear with us as we're just as anxious. <3

Nyago, as I wrote earlier we don't always need the lastest news directly from the developers. Sure, that would be sweet, but even we addicted and desperate gamers know that this wont be possible.

Why not just do what you guys did earlier and make a lil post about the mage class or about some background story? It wouldnt be much information to most, but at least people notice that the forum is still active. Some people on these forums are really trying to get the forums active again....you guys would be a lot of help if you could just point out some obvious in-game stuff.

A post about the weapon categories, about the citys, about the job and battle classes, about the card system. There is lots of stuff to talk about...

Aeria does not expect you to sit around and wait for a game to finish it's development. Sure, they would love to see the community as active and happy as possible, but there is only so much they can and are allowed to do and say to help this situation.

This is incorrect. GMs give you information when they are given the permission to do so and it is readily available. Not simply because someone is demanding it - they would provide as much information as they could regardless of whether or not the community has a negative attitude.

I want to say this: We are lucky that Aeria has been kind enough to provide an Official Community for Lime Odyssey so early in it's development.
There have been many games, that at the current stage LO is in, did not have any community means of communication besides fan-sites.

Companies are not obligated to give you weekly announcements the moment the game enters development. Do you really expect this of them? Do you think Aeria expects Sirius to provide weekly, translated documentation of everything that has been done that week, and then also expect them to allow Aeria to make that information public for the community and media? The industry doesn't operate that way, whether the LO Team would like it to or not.

After all this, the LO Team, and by LO Team I mean Game Master Nyago and Product Manager Anex, still give you updates when they can, and are allowed to.

Anex is very busy, we are lucky he took the extra time to write us an article on Warriors, or even any of his past articles in general. He's busy with Lime Odyssey's progression.

I strongly disagree with this. Sirius developed Ragnarok Online, a well known game. This game got a lot of attention the moment it was announced.

...What?

Those statements are a bit contradicting. If that's the information that Aeria is allowed to provide for the time being, why should they not do so? Simply because you personally do not find that kind of information appealing, doesn't mean others won't.

This goes hand in hand with those that do nothing but complain about LO's release when ANY kind of news is posted.

apparently there are other priorities, and as much as it would be helpful to spend time writing and reviewing information on in game elements, the company is more interested in other stuff, whether the base fans will be there or not is not such a concern compared to how many new players will come if the game is well-developed without bugs. they don't care much about some hundred of us who like me check the forum daily for new info.
and this is not because of the GM, it is because the company tries to make profit by being as efficient as they can, in this case it means focusing more on other active sources of income rather than something that currently is a cost to them and little benefits can be acquired at this time in their investment, it is understandable in my opinion.
now what can be done? I am sure that the company can have already(or easily acquire) information on in-game elements such as the card system you mentioned, dungeons etc, and I am sure many of us would volunteer to review and post on ourselves without you spending time or money, I am sure many of us would volunteer, the first ones would be the moderators(gamesages), and again other people like me myself.
I played the game thanks to our GM, and I have to say he has been as transparent as he could, not trying to impress anyone, I don't care.
so instead of complaining, which in itself is important feedback(so im not saying you shouldnt complain), it is even better to come with ideas how we can do this together, I am sure the GM and the GSs would support us.

I am nature, you are art, let's see how we can compare.
