I've been having a hard time really getting to know anything about the ranger, so I might as well as here:

1.) how many AoE's does the ranger have access to-- it doesn't like like a lot to me, more like one. Is that a problem?

2.) Are they any good, or are they more of a 'meh' class that's lacking in some way.

finally:

3.) how do they compare to the other ranged DPS classes, not so much being better but as far as style or how you use them is concerned.

1 aoe but overall kicks butt.
still the run king is the eng.

Hunter has straight up single target dps and access to four different DoT attacks.

Engineer is the most versatile, going from decent single target with Stun, Magic dmg reduction and debuff removal to AoE dominance with strong DoT and self healing.

Ranger is tricky with strong single target dps, decent AoE, and access to Immobilization, Fear, jump back, knock back, and slow to keep anything melee at bay.

hunter seems to be single target dps class

Engi is versatile, but it's strength is PvE AOE

Hunter is a stunlock machine so is really cool in small scale PvP and a bit less so in large scale such as TW.

As for AOE. hunter doesnt come close to engi or samurai, who pretty much own the AOE crown
