I'm really not sure about these on line journals for a number of reasons, not the least of which is, the sheer amount of space used to create them vs the value of the content.
I guess we all think of the internet as being a boundless space available for all time. Is it? I don't know. I also don't know if I want something I've written, as a kind of internal debate, out there for eternity. Does my blog really have any value?
How honest are people being when they post a blog? Who do they think will read it? Does anyone read it? And if so, why? Are bloggers prepared to take the negative criticism along with the positive, if the entry even allows for commentary? If it doesn't allow for commentary, then what is the purpose?
I have read a few blogs here, on Last Chaos, and many don't convey very much of anything and clearly weren't meant to, just experimenting really, which is fine. While I've known about blogs for a long time and am aware of the major sites out there which support them, eg. Windows Live Spaces, I am still a bit mystified.
Where does that leave this blog? Perhaps it will / should be my first and last. I am not sure? The debate continues.
