Week 26, Day 2 - Dooms, Cerebrii, GRD, and.. GS?

I made a 5-7 fairy set. Cost me 80k. I consider it a luxury item, lol. Just for show. But it's my first fairy set, so I say the 80k was well worth it. I'll make my 40-41 armor a fairy set too, though not with normal smelts. Only up to +3 with those, then it'll be lucky smelt time. Not going to risk breaking a level 40+ piece of armor! I'm going to have a hard enough time getting my hands of any, no reason to throw caution to the wind after I do.

Today was spent hunting Pilferers, again. Next level I'll move on to Berserkers, then Bandits. I can't wait until I get to start hunting things that drop armor that isn't sold by the NPCs. That way I won't always have to undercut the NPC in order to make a sale--I'll just have to undercut the rest of the market.. which isn't too hard to do.

I solo partied today, of course. Met some interesting people. My favorite person of the day would definitely have to be my healer comrade who resurrected me in the middle of four Doom Slayers. Yes, that's right. She and a knight were in the middle of the Mystic Swamp getting, well, swamped by them, so I dashed down there to help. Unfortunately, the knight died, then the healer died trying to rez him, and as I scrambled my way out of there I got killed. The healer and knight both teleported back to the swamp area and sat on the edge of it, right where the water meets the land, in the middle of a bunch of Berserkers while they finished regenerating their health--in visable range of my dead body, of course. The fourth and last party member--a sorcerer--finally showed up at the swamp to help, a bit late in my opinion, lol. Anyway, all three converged on me, the knight and sorcerer defending the healer while she resurrected me. The sorcerer then ran off to finish killing the GRD he had been working on, which was somewhere north of us. Once our mana and health were completely restored, the rest of us went after him to help take care of the Cerebrii that had been spawned. On the way, we added another knight to the party. The five of us took down the Cerebrii with little trouble, then we each went our separate ways again. I love teamwork.

Here I am now, gathering herbs at the west herb patch like usual. I'd be in Dratan doing it, but I think gathering in Dratan is boring. The herb patch there is huge, but there's never anybody around! I like all the action the west herb patch gets, though I'm glad it's less than the north herb patch. I always have trouble finding a free herb at the north patch.

Someone has suggested to me that I apply to be a GS. I like the idea, however I do not think I would make a good one. I have a great deal of knowledge about the game--more than most of the players who have been around as long or longer than I--but I am rarely active in it. That means that, assuming my GS application were accepted, I wouldn't be able to help people in-game much or answer questions there. Also, at the moment I am not sure that I want to be associated with the GS. Their reputations for being able to intelligently answer questions and act as respectable members of the community are.. both lacking and disappointing, to say the least. While I am confident that I could help raise that reputation, I am not sure that the other GS would be very accepting of me doing so. After all, it is what they have made it, and most people dislike having their creations changed. I do not feel a need to upset the powers that be. Instead, I will continue doing what I already am--setting a good example for all players, both young and old, through my actions; freely sharing information and helping new players feel welcome; being a good merchant and fair judge; being a peacekeeper, especially in the marketplace; and just generally helping or contributing to everyone I meet, even if it is a small way. The more love and joy I share with others, the more I receive in return. This is what keeps me here, and I hope this will keep the others here, too.

Edit: Oh, I killed another Frenzy Pandora today and got, much to my amusement, 1,088,000 gold. I thought that was a funny number. I also traded my level 61 knight sword with a friend who had a level 61 titan axe. Knowing the friend, I probably got the worse end of the deal, but from my point of view a sword is really no better for me than an axe, and he is a knight so at least he can make use of the sword. Perhaps I'll find a titan willing to trade a level 61 wand with me. I can't use one yet, but it's always fun to dream.
