Week 25, Day 6

Today was interesting. I bought two lucky smelting stones for a total of 4 million, which put me down to only a couple hundred thousand gold in the bank. After using the stones to make my 37+4 wand a +6, I decided it was not good to have my funds so low. After all, what if I come upon a good deal on some 41-42 armor or 41 weapon? Though I'm only 33, I have already started looking for them. I think that I will end up just having to hunt for my armor in Maargadum. That will be.. fun. Anyway, I sold several HS, putting me up to 2 million. Then I decided to go SP-farming. When I got to Merac, I was astonished to find three Cerebrii camping my "sweet spot"! Someone must have just killed a Grand Read Dragon in that area. Luckily, I was in a party with four other people who were also in Merac, so when I told them about the Cerebrii they came right over and helped me get rid of them. For some reason, I ended up being the Cerebrii's bait. A sorcerer friend of mine happened to wander by while we were killing off the Cerebrii (and while I was running in circles for my life), so he stopped to help. While we rested, he explained to me that the Cerebrii must have gone after me because I was the biggest threat to them--and indeed I was, since I had the highest damage in the group and the most debuffs to throw on them. The Cerebrii killing was fairly easy and my party-mates took very little damage. Funny thing happened though. Each Cerebrii we killed spawned one more. After killing three, I told the group I'd just go hunt somewhere else, no need to make the Cerebrii move. They could have the spot. We all split up again, with me heading to the Mystic Swamp.

At the Swamp, I was lucky enough to come upon one of the two pandora's boxes that spawn there. Only one problem with the spawning point--it appeared in the middle of three Blood Frenzys, with a Doom Slayer near by. While the Frenzys are no issue, Doom Slayers hurt. I killed off one Frenzy and opened the box. Out popped a Blood Frenzy pandora. I rebuffed before attacking. Unfortunately, when I got within range to attack it, I also got within the Doom Slayer's range. I retreated a little, healing myself, then threw Curse on the pandora to slow it. The Doom was easy to outrun. Luring the Frenzy to the entrance of the Mystic Swamp, I quickly finished it off there. With the help of a gold booster, it dropped 1 million gold. My funds got put up to 3 million instantaneously. Heading back to where I had been, I was surprised to find the Doom still running in my direction. I managed to take it out, though in the process I received a lot more damage than the Frenzy had given me--and the Doom is even twelve levels lower!

Mystic Swamp-ed out, I went to Juno to go mining. While there, I met a new player whose friend had given them their level 11 character and account. I answered many questions for him, and then he requested that I take him hunting with me. While I do not support powerleveling, I agreed to take him to Merac and show him what it was like. After explaining the teleporter to him and getting him to Merac, I met him in town and bought him a couple recall scrolls so he wouldn't have to walk back from the Swamp on his own. Wouldn't want him to run into those Cerebrii. We left town and I explained the difference between passive and aggressive monsters, and what each type of monster we passed on the way to the Swamp was. At the Swamp, we fought Berserkers. I weakened them for him and he killed them. Oddly enough, he only got 70-80 XP each mob. After a bit, I explained that it might be better for him to just hunt Sasquatches and other white-named creatures for a while. He agreed, though I will say it was a reluctant agreement. I don't think he quite yet fully understands the idea of SP. (Yes, I tried explaining it to him.)

I am off mining now, finally. Must gather stones to keep my pets fed during my long hours of hunting tomorrow. Then I think I will head to the herb patch, as I am in need of green leaves. Those Pilferers really like beating on my pet drake.
