I traveled with Sov and the rogue knights for about a month or two until...

" BLOODY BASTARDS!!!!"

I awoke with a start, rubbing the sleep from my eyes and focusing on a pacing, livid Sov.

"So-?"

"YE GOD****ED BASTARDS!!!!" he roared again and stormed out of the small tent, tearing the flap as he flung it aside.

Despite being utterly confused and a bit scared, I pushed the wolf furs that had kept me warm during my sleep and followed after him into the bitter cold night. I looked around for a few moments and my heart sank into my stomach, realizing what had caused Sov to erupt into such fury. The rogue knights had moved on, abandoning Sov and myself.

Our only source of protection and stability had vanished. We were just children; I barely ten years old and Sov only a year older. We had no money, no food; nothing. I, Evelaina Lavale, last of the noble Lavale family, had absolutely nothing.

I felt as if the entire army that had ruined my life had struck me all at once when this realization hit me. My noble blood meant nothing now. My name held no power, no sway over the harsh, frigid world we were thrust into. I was numb. I felt nothing. Anger, fear, hatred, depression; nothing was there.

I turned my clouded green eyes to the angry, wild figure of Sov. He was at a complete loss of what to do. I silently watched him rage until he had worn himself out, sinking onto a frost covered log, sobbing with his face cradled in his hands.

I walked over to him, giving him the same awkward pat on the back that he had used to soothe me a few times before. I understood his pain. He wasn't just a simple-minded Titan boy anymore. He was my equal.

"What're we gunna do, Eve?" he asked me finally, staring at me with his coal-black and slightly bloodshot eyes.

I returned his gaze, but said nothing. My lips and tongue could form no words of comfort or hope. In fact, I could say nothing at all for that moment. After a few moments of awkward silence, I spoke.

"Randol..."

"Huh?"

"Randol... in Juno. We're going there."
